EXO-M

- Kris. My main Canadian man. Ugh, seriously, what the fuck, that face. He doesn't even look Chinese. He looks like a god. If you told me to look at his face after telling me that EXO are extraterrestrials with superpowers living on earth, goddamn, I would believe you. But God-like looks aside, in terms of his role in EXO, I think that Kris is a lot like Suho in that he's a much better leader than he is an entertainer. When EXO first debuted, I followed M a lot more than I did K, and as most people know, watching M interviews in the beginning was painful. Kris was constantly speaking for the other members while they just sat to the side and let him take the heat. (It was understandable that he needed to cover for Xiumin and Chen, but even the other Chinese members were awkward as hell.) He didn't seem to have a problem with it, though, and he was always very good about speaking up for them. That's what makes him a great leader. He understands the strengths and weaknesses that both the individuals and the group as a whole have. By understanding that, he always knows what to say, when to say it, and what to do to bring the members together. It also doesn't help that he's multilingual, so he can bridge every language gap that needs to be crossed when it comes to internal affairs in the group, as well as interviews conducted in Chinese, Korean, and English. What a cultured man.
Leader affairs aside, I also find him the most intriguing, if only for the fact that so little is known about his past. With a mug like that, I swear he could have been in a gang at some point in his life. Or an assassin. A spy. Jesus christ, everything about him, from his looks to his mysteriousness, makes it seem like he came straight out of a manga.
But I digress. As an idol, I don't really see him having a lot of strengths (or weaknesses, really). It seems like he's just there half of the time. He lets the other members take the spotlight and he withdraws whenever it's put on him. He doesn't seem to have a lot of passion in singing or dancing compared to other members, like Chen or Kai. He doesn't have a lot of stage presence other than his sharp facial features. But even so, he works hard at what he does and he's good at doing what he needs to do in order to carry the group. That's what I love about him, and that's why the others need someone like him.
- Luhan.
- Jongdae. The 'dansheen masheen'. I like to call him 'class rep' because his predebut pictures look totally nerdy, teehee.
- Minseok.
- Yixing.
- Tao.
