(That was supposed to be funny because one of my upper-level classes is on secularism in modern literature and the disenchantment of 19th century writers with god and religion.)
Anyways, I had a super brief but very important encounter with S the other day about this.
S: What's your major again?
K: I'm double majoring in English and Bio.
S: Oh god. Why do you do this to yourself?
K: Thank you for recognizing that I make excellent life choices.
S: Yeah, it was already pretty evident with the whole being an English major thing.
K: Ha, I guess. But recently I've been thinking that I shouldn't be an English major.
S: Then don't be.
I'm not joking when I say that this is the best advice I've gotten in a while.
I make things too complicated in my head. So I'm thankful to him for always being blunt.
